We’ve been around since 1933, delivering truly excellent service
Meet our team
We have two optometrists and qualified support staff with over a century of optical experience between everyone.
Kevin GraySenior Optometrist
Kevin joined R Green & Partners in 1987. Within optometry his interests include glaucoma and he has spent time alongside a glaucoma consultant in the RVI Newcastle to gain additional experience in detection and management of this condition.
Kevin is also interested in education and has supervised pre-registration optometrists.
Wendy ApplebyPractice Manager
Wendy joined us in January 2014 and is our practice manager.
She has previously worked for 30 years in the NHS as an ophthalmic nurse, most lately as a Ward Sister in Ophthalmology and Facio-maxilliary surgery.
Wendy brings a range of clinical and managerial skills into the practice.
Sarah qualified in Optometry from the prestigious Cardiff University School of Optometry in 2015. Whilst spending her first years as an optometrist in the multiple sector her preference was to work in an independent practice and she joined us in November 2018. She has a thorough and caring approach in her consultations and is a popular member of the team.
Caroline CazalyOptical Assistant
Caroline joined the team in April 2015 as an optical assistant after a career in hospitality.
She enjoys working with the public, always possesses a smile and has a great sense of humour.
Caroline successfully completed the Optical Assistants course at Anglia Ruskin University in spring 2016.
Mark StoreyGlazing Technician/Optical Assistant
Mark is our laboratory technician and joined us in July 2018, bringing over twenty years experience in optical glazing and manufacturing with him. He is responsible for glazing most of our spectacles in our in-house laboratory, and is skilled in repairs and adjustments so he is often seen ‘front of house’ assisting patients with their spectacles and lenses.
Charlotte AndersonOptical Assistant
Charlotte’s optical background is originally from the multiple sector but she wanted to move into independent optics to escape the sales pressures, and into an environment which is more patient focussed where a more personal service is offered. Her goals are therefore more aligned with our philosophy, and Charlotte has swiftly integrated into our team.
Natasha MalleyOptical Assistant
Natasha joins us from a managerial background but with a keen interest in optics and in delivering excellent customer care. She has a first class BA degree and her skills have readily transferred to the independent optical sector, where she has demonstrated an ability to adapt and learn quickly.
We promise to explain all available options in plain English and we stock and supply a huge range of spectacle and contact lenses as well as fashion and designer frames to help you look stylish and be comfortable, all at affordable prices.
